Which axes make the data straight
Use this for “Should data from y = 3e0.5x go on plain, semilog or log–log axes?”
Sort
Which axes draw the data as a straight line?
Tap a card, then tap its group.
A straight line on log axes means a power law; on semilog, an exponential.
Assumptions
•
A straight line on log–log axes means a power law, y = axⁿ.
•
A straight line with only y on a log axis (semilog) means an exponential, y = y₀ekx.
•
MATLAB’s semilogy and loglog, or Matplotlib’s yscale and xscale set to log, draw these axes.
